Nora Ephron Screenplays

Nora Ephron is the author of at least 14 produced feature scripts. Her lesser-known (but still fantastic) work includes screenplays for the films Silkwood (1983) Michael (1996), and Julie & Julia (2009). Although many of her scripts are not available to read, fortunately some of her best are available online for free, including her top three:

Directed by Nora Ephron

Often described in terms of being clever, charming, and full of humanity, SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE is another classic comedy that perfectly balances humor with relationship drama. The script, which Ephron co-wrote, was nominated for Best Original Screenplay but lost to The Piano.

You've Got Mail Screenplay.jpg

3. YOU'VE GOT MAIL (1998)
Screenplay by Nora Ephron
Directed by Nora Ephron, Delia Ephron

Depicting online romance when it was still a novel concept, YOU'VE GOT MAIL now seems like a period piece. But the script remains the ultimate blueprint for the feel-good movie. Incidentally, it's also listed by Rolling Stone among the "Most Egregious Product Placements in Movie & TV History" for its use of AOL trademarks.
